He hadn't realized that the noise he was making could be heard by someone else, so he had... "quickly" modified his method of movement so he wouldn't make as much noise. He saw the Raichu sitting happily, eating his food, and thought... well, it would be nice to make a new friend. He shuffled over to the Raichu and spoke in a low rumble.]
