Prompts:

Your character has now been AU'd into the Pokemon World in whatever way you see as most fitting! Below are some ideas, but by no means do you have to stick to them. Also welcome are characters who are already pokemon. c:

1) The Journey's Start - Just getting your first pokemon? Heading out from your hometown for the first time? TODAY'S THE DAY! It doesn't matter if you've just come of age or if you're getting a late start on this trainer thing, it's time to take your first steps with your new partner. And maybe you'll be lucky enough to have a human friend accompany you!

2) On the Road - I hope you like walking, because you're about to do a lot of it. So. Much. Walking. Through dark forests and pokemon abundant grasslands, meeting new friends and getting ~~attacked~~ asked to battle by random strangers... Getting to your destination is half the fun!

3) Gym Battle - Time to get that badge! Will you use type advantages against the Leader, or tough it out with your favorites? Or maybe you're not the challenger at all-- You're the Gym Leader defending their title and honor! Whatever your role, it's time for a heated trial by combat that only one party can win!

4) Criminal Shenanigans - Oh no, Team What-ever-their-name-was has struck again, exploiting innocents and commiting dastardly deeds. It's up to you (and maybe a friend or two) to expose their schemes and save the day! Though that might be easier said than done...

5) Lost in a Cave - You forgot the TM for Flash, didn't you. Yeah. Now you're hopelessly turned around in some Arceus-forsaken cave with no way out and zubats everywhere. Everywhere. Good luck, you're going to need it!

6) How do I Hold All These Eggs - Maybe you left two pokemon at the daycare too long, or when you weren't looking they decided to get busy and leave you with a whole bunch of eggs to take care of. How it happened is irrelevant because what are you going to do with all of these soon-to-be baby pokemon? Trade them to friends? Give them away? Create an army of magikarps?????

7) RIVALSSSS - Your sworn enemy, or a childhood friend, or maybe just some random dude that keeps challenging you to battles; It's your rival! And they're not going to leave until you defeat them. GO! FIGHT! WIN!

8) Look at that Legendary - Yes, that's exactly what you think it is. Or you may not have any idea what that pokemon is at all. But one thing is clear, it's not an ordinary one! For whatever reason you've stumbled upon a legendary. It could be from sheer dumb luck, perhaps they where drawn by your pure heart, or maybe the world is ending and you're the chosen one.

9) Break Time - Life as a trainer is tough, not just on you, but on your pokemon too! So take a moment to get out of the daily grind and spend some time goofing off. Go to the beach, see the sights in the city, or just fall asleep under a tree.

10) Alternate Lifestyles - But what if being a hardcore trainer really isn't your calling? Maybe you're a breeder, or a contest star, or a ranger instead! The world of pokemon has many different opportunities to explore!

11) WILDCARD - Do whatever makes you happy!

[SO. MANY. GRASS. TYPES. Seriously he has way too many. How does he even manage with such a type disadvantage the world will never know.]

[is a fuzzy Mewtwo. because what else would a modern attempt at creating a Frankensteinian monster be?

on the other hand, since he's got an interest in Pokemon rights he does tend to go around using his massive psychic powers to make people think they're looking at an ordinary (if scruffy) looking young man. it's a lot easier to argue his points when he's not being interrupted by capture attempts or challenges.]

[You're not fooling him, strange not!human. There's something about the psychic power generated by this newcomer that seems almost... familiar. But it's new, and both intriguing and worrying.]

[It takes him a long time to debate back and forth with himself on if he'll contact this other mind or not. It's not an easy decision, because making oneself known is the exact opposite of staying hidden. But he wants to know if they're an ally or a threat to watch out for.]

[So cautiously, he reaches out;]

[it isn't unusual for him to attract the attention of other psychics, even this close to humans. the subtle suggestions that make up his disguise were meant to fool eyes and ears and when needed, noses; not the mental senses of more highly trained minds.

however, it is unusual for that attention to lead to contact— enough so that he nearly stops in the middle of the sidewalk out of surprise at the "sound" of another voice.]

[He's up high amongst the buildings; being this close to humans isn't comfortable, but it's required if he's to make sure they don't play god again while he isn't looking. Locating the other pokemon- yes, that's what they must be, with powers like that- isn't difficult but there's no reason for him to move from his perch.]

[Especially if he doesn't want half the population running in fear and and other half throwing pokeballs at him.]

Who are you?

[While he's learned to be even tempered and tolerant, social graces are not his strong suit.]

[he flicks an unseen ear in amusement (and bemusement) as he slips sideways, out of the pedestrian traffic and from there into an alley. there's certainly a familiarity in that question— although normally he was the one asking it of himself.

there's a familiarity to that voice, too, which he's not sure what to think of yet. it's certainly not enough to keep the slightly guarded edge out of his reply.]

Someone with good reason to keep that information to himself. Why do you wish to know?

[it's easy enough to trace back along the connection they're talking through to figure out the other's location— above him? interesting. and easy enough to get to, if he needs to.]

[Oh no it's this asshole, who sweeps your whole team and then charges you a lot to restore them afterwards. If you wanted charity then you should have gone to the pokemon center.]

[And if you've managed to hurt yourself while running around the region like all the other dumb kids, maybe he'll help you. Or maybe he'll leave you for the ~~dingos~~ mightyena to find.

It's hard, being a Trainer. There's all the running around, and the battles, and meeting new people - it can just plain tucker a girl out.

So right now Berry and her starter -

- are just sort of...napping together under a tree. Maybe not quite napping, but they are definitely spacing out and not looking at anything in particular.

Things have been going great for this sort-of-new trainer. Yup. It's been smooth sailing.

Alright, so that's a blatant lie. Maybe taking a freshly hatched Turtwig as a starter was a bad idea, as baby pokemon sometimes took after their caretakers in unfavorable ways. As in she had eagerly participated in Russell's showmanship and bravado to the point where she thought she could take on any opponent. This may or may not have lead them into more than a few dangerous situations.

He also probably shouldn't have named her 'Armada'.

So it's Armada who appears first, dashing past them while chasing after a hapless wild Rattata that has no interest in fighting her, much to her displeasure. Russell is thankfully not far behind.

"Get back here!"

...huh. Better help him! Berry shakes off her lethargy and hops to her feet, pointing at the Turtwig. Her Butterfree trills in understanding and takes to the air, sprinkling Sleep Powder over both of the Pokemon.

[Look, it's that odd Contest Superstar, taking a walk with their Pokemon - oddly, she refuses to evolve their Honedge.

As a side note, Larsa does often present as male when in public - to hide even more that she's a Solidor and whoops her brother is sort of trying to take over the broken-by-Nethicite Ivalice. (A far-off region.)

She's also got a Sylveon, Aggron, Ditto, Togekiss and Kangaskhan - all famous contest stars.]

[Stephanie knows of Larsa, of course, because she's caught some of Larsa's contests before. She's never met the star in person though as the duties of being a League champion often kept her tied down. But Steph has left most of that behind now. She's free to travel as she pleases.]

[The sight of a Honedge delights her; it reminds her of when her own Agieslash who's been a loyal companion all these years. Her own intimidating team is safely stowed in their pokeballs, except for the Vaporeon who can get away with looking cute.]

[Staring is rude though, so don't mind her she's just going to start a conversation;]

Hello-- May I ask if they have a name?

[!! At first, Larsa is in awe - was this person once... no, that'd be rude to ask. She's met many people who may have been nobles - or high-ranking - before her time. Sometimes she's mistaken some for others, though - perhaps she'll ask later, when they know each other at least a little.

Her pose changes almost straight away, however, from being slightly slumped over. Now, she's standing tall and happily. Of course she's ready to speak about her Pokemon!]

Of course they do - I'd not leave one without a name. They are Bergan the Sylveon, Ghis the Aggron, Zecht the Ditto, Drace the Togekiss, and Zargabaath the Kangaskhan.

And, I've only just begun to train Gabranth, this Honedge. Do you think she looks... cool? Or do you think she's more of a tough one?
