GENERAL OPTIONS

1.) Alchemy 101 - It's time to crack open that text book and start learning about the wonderful science of breaking things apart to put them back together! Be warned though, it's not as easy as some make it look-- You have to have the brains and the raw talent to make a name for yourself. And don't forget the law of Equivalent Exchange!

2.) State Work - There are a lot of reasons people enter government payroll, and whether you're an official state alchemist or just an enlisted soldier, you're likely to work closely with all the exciting aspects of the military. Some examples include paperwork, boring desk jobs, phone calls, genocide, more paperwork, corruption, political plots, and lots of chess playing. Good luck, and be careful who you trust.

3.) Freelancers - Beholden to none, you're using your awesome powers to do whatever you want. Help people in need? Right on. Be a mercenary for hire? Uh, whatever floats your boat. Become a master criminal? I mean, we can't say the law won't come after you, but you'll look really cool doing it.

4.) You Don't Belong Here - This isn't your home, this isn't even your world. Somehow you've slipped through from your own plane of existence to this one. How it happened isn't clear; Maybe you did something back in your world to get you sent here, maybe someone from this side pulled you through, or maybe the Gate just decided you needed an adventure. Now you need to survive in this strange place until you can find a way back-- if you can, that is.

1.) Oh No You Didn't - Except you did. Somewhere along the way, through grief or greed or just to say you could, you preformed human transmutation. Whoops. It probably didn't end well. At all. Now you get to deal with the aftermath.

2.) Homunculi - Whether they're ones you've accidentally created yourself, or crazed minions of a mastermind (or both), these guys aren't much fun to get into a fight with. Are they trying to kill you, or use you as a pawn, or have you taken it upon yourself to correct the mistakes you've made? No matter the circumstances, it won't be easy...

...and maybe you're not fighting against a homunculus, maybe you're one of them. Have fun with all that entails!

3.) Alchemical Experimentation - What's almost as bad as trying to bring back dead people? Experimentation on living humans! This can range from attaching souls to inanimate objects, turning people into philosopher's stones, making human chimeras, and whatever other horrific things scientists can come up with.

4.) Vengeance - Because that'll solve world problems. For either real or perceived wrongs, you've set out to take revenge on those who have harmed you. And vengeance is a violent, messy business. On the flip side, you might be the one being hunted for revenge, for things you may or may not have done.

Your character has now been AU'd into the Pokemon World in whatever way you see as most fitting! Below are some ideas, but by no means do you have to stick to them. Also welcome are characters who are already pokemon. c:

1) The Journey's Start - Just getting your first pokemon? Heading out from your hometown for the first time? TODAY'S THE DAY! It doesn't matter if you've just come of age or if you're getting a late start on this trainer thing, it's time to take your first steps with your new partner. And maybe you'll be lucky enough to have a human friend accompany you!

2) On the Road - I hope you like walking, because you're about to do a lot of it. So. Much. Walking. Through dark forests and pokemon abundant grasslands, meeting new friends and getting ~~attacked~~ asked to battle by random strangers... Getting to your destination is half the fun!

3) Gym Battle - Time to get that badge! Will you use type advantages against the Leader, or tough it out with your favorites? Or maybe you're not the challenger at all-- You're the Gym Leader defending their title and honor! Whatever your role, it's time for a heated trial by combat that only one party can win!

4) Criminal Shenanigans - Oh no, Team What-ever-their-name-was has struck again, exploiting innocents and commiting dastardly deeds. It's up to you (and maybe a friend or two) to expose their schemes and save the day! Though that might be easier said than done...

5) Lost in a Cave - You forgot the TM for Flash, didn't you. Yeah. Now you're hopelessly turned around in some Arceus-forsaken cave with no way out and zubats everywhere. Everywhere. Good luck, you're going to need it!

6) How do I Hold All These Eggs - Maybe you left two pokemon at the daycare too long, or when you weren't looking they decided to get busy and leave you with a whole bunch of eggs to take care of. How it happened is irrelevant because what are you going to do with all of these soon-to-be baby pokemon? Trade them to friends? Give them away? Create an army of magikarps?????

7) RIVALSSSS - Your sworn enemy, or a childhood friend, or maybe just some random dude that keeps challenging you to battles; It's your rival! And they're not going to leave until you defeat them. GO! FIGHT! WIN!

8) Look at that Legendary - Yes, that's exactly what you think it is. Or you may not have any idea what that pokemon is at all. But one thing is clear, it's not an ordinary one! For whatever reason you've stumbled upon a legendary. It could be from sheer dumb luck, perhaps they where drawn by your pure heart, or maybe the world is ending and you're the chosen one.

9) Break Time - Life as a trainer is tough, not just on you, but on your pokemon too! So take a moment to get out of the daily grind and spend some time goofing off. Go to the beach, see the sights in the city, or just fall asleep under a tree.

10) Alternate Lifestyles - But what if being a hardcore trainer really isn't your calling? Maybe you're a breeder, or a contest star, or a ranger instead! The world of pokemon has many different opportunities to explore!

The Rule 63 Meme

Rule 63, also known as a genderswap or a fem AU, is the idea that any character can have a counterpart of the opposite gender. In essence they are the same person, they have an (almost) identical personality, but are instead the opposite sex of their original canon character. This can effect them in subtle but interesting ways, and figuring out what changes, what's different, and what has stayed exactly the same is the key to the fun!

While this is labeled as a Rule 63 meme, it's fine to bring it male versions of female characters. (as it seems as though rule 63 is defined as male to female swap) And don't be shy about tagging around, or hitting up a 63'd character even if yours is not. The idea is to have fun!

The boundlessness and daring unchained nature of the sea captured the attention of writers and historians and adventurers for centuries; it still does! Exploration, conquest, commerce, and luxury all find roots in uncharted waters, be they ocean or large inland sea or freshwater lake and river. Along with those marks of growth come some consequences, born of nature and man: namely, several ways in which you might find yourself…

Not quite sure how you got here? There are a few starter options to consider:

1. Shipwreck: Did it go down in a storm? Lose a fight with pirates? Ignore the warnings of a competent lighthouse-keeper (or see no warnings at all due to a competent one)? Whatever the cause, your ship is lost and you survived, somehow. This applies to lakes and rivers, too, which can be just as tempestuous with a bit more potential for settled, "modern" life springing up around them.

2. Vacation Misfortune: Surfing lesson or session gone wrong? Lose your kayak and your paddle? Not quite the island tour/lakeside town fishing expedition/flight across the sea you expected? Jumping from tall seaside cliffs doesn't always have an easy ending, either. Maybe you were caught in a riptide and managed to get through it, but you definitely aren't where you started...

3. Lost at Sea: Can coincide with a shipwreck, but you might also be an intrepid explorer seeking new and uncharted islands, or someone on the run from an overbearing family or one too many failed assignments. Or you just plain can't read a map and work a sextant at the same time, and your compass doesn't point north.

4. Walk the Plank: Of course, for the less ethically inclined there is always piracy in its various forms. A prisoner or a renegade acting for his own benefit can be forced off the ship into the sea and whatever awaits him there; a stowaway or thief aboard could meet a similar fate.

5. Crossing Lines: Speaking of the criminal realm, if you run afoul of the wrong crowd in a port city, or you are the wrong crowd and you screw up one time too many, there's no law in that lawless profession saying they can't truss you up and toss you off the nearest dock. Hopefully you find some benevolent help after that.

6. Too Close to Land: What if the water is your natural home? Drawing too close to the shallows leaves you subject to crashing waves and sandburn, among other things; stay for too long as the tide ebbs, and you might get beached. Weather is probably a factor for you, too, as the hot sun and changing tide leave you dry quickly, or a storm rolling in makes the surf churn and pull.

It doesn't have to be one of these! There are near-countless variations on how and why and with what means one ends up washed up on the beach (unconscious, or drifting in on a makeshift raft, or swimming for shore, or looking for new discoveries - or any combination thereof), all of which include just a bit of suspension of disbelief. Maybe it's tropical; maybe it's frigid. Be bold. Be creative. AU stuff, one person in another's canon stuff, completely unrelated but you think it would be cool to play this out stuff: everything goes.

Setting up your initial post with some kind of scene suggestion and/or your scenario preferences is recommended, but not required.

Tag other people. Become the rescuer, actively seeking to assist after an accident or rumor you heard, or a fellow survivor/explorer, or someone taking their beachcombing find captive (alone or as part of a larger collective), or someone sent to fetch the missing person for straightforward or nefarious purposes. You don't even need to be the person making the discovery! Maybe you're introducing the washed-up victim to life in his or her new environment instead, a walk about town or a lesson in how to do the hard labor required of such vagrants. This isn't an explicitly smut or violence-ish meme but it could happen, so please take note and warn or describe permissions accordingly.

Acarien, the god of Death (human avatar) -

Acarien is playful in spirit, though his domains of felines, twilight, and most notably death can be rather depressing. Here he comes in the form of a man to walk among mortals, to speak with them and have some fun without the others of the Borean Pantheon policing him. He flirts left and right and can be persistent in bothering anyone he deems interesting enough. Maybe you recognize him for what he is, maybe you only get a feeling that he's different, or maybe you're oblivious to his true nature.

Acarien, the god of Death (cat avatar) -

Same god, different form. What's this cute kitty cat doing here? He can appear as any breed and is most likely begging for attention and food-- Because hey, he's adorable and he'll milk it for all it's worth. Though for a normal person it might be a little shocking when he starts talking.

Cheverion, the goddess of Vengeance (human or godly) -

In direct conflict with Acarien we have Cheverion, the youngest member of the Borean pantheon. Her domains are the element of wind, birds, war, emotions, and vengeance. She has a short temper and has no time for dalliances with mortals, though this doesn't mean she dislikes them. She's honest and straightforward; which can make her rude and vicious. Cheverion may appear in her natural form, as an armored woman with sweeping wings and feathers where a human's ears would be, or in the guise of a mortal if the situation calls for it, or even as a massive gold dragon if she feels particularly intimidating. She may be hard to talk to at first, but a persistent soul may catch her fancy as an ally, or perhaps even a friend.

Yuri is the younger sister of Dr. Kiriko, the "death doctor" of euthanasia that acts as Black Jack's foil in the series. She's a sweet girl who wears her emotions and her heart on her sleeve. Yuri may seem fragile at first, and it's clear that her family sheltered her, but she understands how cruel the world can be and is far stronger than most give her credit for. She's an advocate for conservation and loves her brother even though he's a huge ass to her.

[Outcasts gather here. Deep in these wild jungles, there are few humans, few trainers stupid or reckless enough to venture within the hostile environment. For those unwanted, this is a haven. A paradise of sorts. What this seclusion can't give those who live here is a true escape; They are still who they are. What brought them here still haunts them, as much as they would like to forget it or move on.]

Option One - Rainy Day
It's raining, it's pouring, and the only house in sight is that beat-up looking one on that cliff side. Maybe you know who lives there, maybe you don't- either way, you don't have much of a choice as far as shelter goes. Hopefully she'll let you in.

Option Two - Sorry, It's Lupus
Okay, maybe not Lupus per say, but you may or may not be dying from something rare and painful. As in you are and all the other doctors have given up. She can save you, but can you pay her fees?

Option Three - On the Street
You're walking down the street and hey, doesn't that person look familiar? Maybe you could go for coffee or something.

Option Four - Pay up Bitches
You owe her money. (Probably because of option two whoops.) And guess what, she wants payment. Pronto. How you pay her back is a little open to interpretation; will it be free food, a favor in time of need, those 50,000 cupcakes she's still waiting on, or something else?

Option Five - Wildcard
Come up with something else you like instead!

[Dr. Klim had not been long at Black Jack's clinic. He had asked if he could come by for a drink, and had passed out early and ended up spending the night. It wasn't as though he had a home to go back to, and so the Doctor's hospitality (and her considerable patience with him) was very much appreciated.

He'd overslept that morning. When he woke up, Black Jack had left on some errand. The Doctor's daughter was either out, or minding her own business. He spent the rest of that morning relearning how to cook, making a rather modest and burnt breakfast for himself, and surveying the clinic. Though it smelt like medicine and tobacco, it was a nice place. It felt cozy and open, but he couldn't help but feel that its atmosphere could be improved upon by a small and fluffy domesticated animal.

A rather suspicious-sounding mewling coming from behind the front door eventually drew Dr. Klim from his tour. Hm, that almost sounded like a...]

[Sparkstorm the Raichu is enjoying a day off from training, and is indulging in his favorite past time; Eating. It doesn't matter if it's Pokemon food or not (although he's very partial to the human dish known as 'pie') because he'll consume it like a Snorlax who's just woken up from a nap.]

[He's gathered quite a selection too. There are berries, apples, pears, wrapped candies (not rare ones, sadly) chocolate bars, Chinese leftovers snagged from someone's fridge, cheese sticks, carrot sticks, juice boxes, soda cans, and free samples of Pokemon treats suckered off the store worker with a huge teary-eyed pout. Yes, he's going to eat all of it.]
